The identification of corpses has a very important role in our society today within forensic sciences. Various techniques are used, but checking the external appearance and identifying tattoos can be of great help. Tattos are created by various marks on the skin made by impregnating the epidermis with pigments following figures that can be implemented on the skin, according to ideals and even civilizations. The purpose of the tattoo has varied from simple decoration to establishing a social rank, membership in a criminal or non-criminal group, or cultural statements. Tattoos allow us to help with body identification if facial features or limbs have been damaged or removed. From certain tattoos, aspects of the deceased's history can also be deduced, such as military tattoos on service personnel, tattoos of rudimentary lines with antisocial messages, or their social history, if they were prisoners, or belong to a certain culture or group.
